What we do
|We fly remotely piloted air systems! It’s hard to watch TV at the moment without seeing footage taken by a remotely piloted aircraft. Commonly called “drones” they are becoming increasingly used in programmes such as Top Gear and Grand Designs and in news broadcasts to add an impressive visual dimension to their reports. Remotely piloted aircraft footage was used extensively during the 2014 flood coverage by all news channels.
Despite the increased accessibility, professional grade equipment will still require a considerable financial outlay, extensive training and to fly such unmanned aerial vehicles commercially in the UK, formal permissions are required from the Civil Aviation Authority (CAA).
The team here at Vantage Point Media are all qualified remote pilots with the correct permissions from the CAA, a fleet of high quality hexacopters and hours of remote flying experience. Our aircraft all carry HD video equipment mounted in a “gimbal” which provides super smooth, vibration free moving and stills imagery. Our live video feed system provides those on the ground with a real time view of what the camera can see via a tripod mounted monitor. On completion of the flight, or flights, we edit the footage and provide all the best bits along with the high quality photographs on a memory stick for the customer’s perusal.
|“Originally used by the Military, Unmanned Aerial Vehicles (UAV) or Remotely Piloted Air Systems (RPAS) are now becoming more accessible to the civilian population who thankfully choose to arm them with HD cameras instead of missiles.”|
